The Child Development classes at Hampden Academy  operates a nursery school for area children, 3-5 years old.  The program will runs two days a week for  2 hours from  October through the beginning of January. The framework of the nursery school  includes Learning/Discovery centers, creative art projects, nutritious snacks, and circle/story time.

The purpose of this nursery school is to provide high school students the opportunity to plan and practice using developmentally appropriate activities for the preschool-aged child.  The young children will have the opportunity to play and interact with others in a safe and well-supervised learning environment. Young children have a smoother transition into pre-K and kindergarten classes as a result of their participation with the Hampden Academy nursery school.
